‘What are you teaching your children?!’: Ntsiki defends Kelly Khumalo

South African poet and human rights activist Ntsiki Mazwai has come to the defense of musician Kelly Khumalo. This is after a video went viral of some school children singing a song about how the singer murdered her former boyfriend Senzo Meyiwa.

While an investigation into the clip has been opened, Mazwai has slammed both the parents of the children and the teacher who both allowed the song to be sung and recorded during classroom hours.

Ntsiki defends Kelly Khumalo after clip shows kids insulting her in a song

Ever since the Senzo Meyiwa trial began, Kelly Khumalo – who shares a child with the slain footballer – has been on the top of trends lists.

She is once again trending after a video surfaced of children in a classroom singing a song pinning her behind the soccer star’s death.

Some of the lyrics explain how they now hate her for “killing innocent Senzo”.

Mzansi reacts

Many people agreed that the song was distasteful and wondered out loud how the children came to learn it.

Others bashed the teacher who is presumably the person who recorded the children.

“I’m not her biggest fan, but this is beyond distasteful. What was going through the teacher or elders’ minds when they penned these words? What lessons are children being taught?”

@Grootboom704 commented:

“Kids are not safe around that teacher. They teaching kids to disrespect adults.”
