A Hainan Airlines Dreamliner had to return to Rome airport after its engine caught fire due to a bird-strike. All 265 people on-board landed safely after the plane dumped fuel over the sea

Earlier today a Hainan Airlines flight experienced an un-expected situation at Romes Fiumicino airport: its right engine caught fire right after take-off (due to what officials say was a bird getting into the engine)

The Hainan Airlines Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner carrying 249 passengers and 16 crew members was heading to Shenzhen China when the incident happened; the pilots followed emergency protocols and turned the aircraft back to Rome

The flight crew made a quick-thinking decision — dumping extra fuel over the Mediterranean sea before attempting to land. This standard safety move helped reduce the aircrafts weight making the emergency landing safer for everyone on-board

The Italian Coast Guard confirmed that a bird-strike caused the engine fire which is a common air-safety issue that planes face. Despite the scary situation the plane landed without any problems and the airport didnt face any schedule changes or delays
