Boeing workers end strike after company's third try with better pay deal

After two failed attempts Boeing finally got its workers back with a much-improved contract package. The deal includes big pay-boost and promises about future jet production in Seattle

Boeing factory staff in west-coast facilities accepted a new work-deal after saying no to two earlier offers (the last agreement got 59% yes-votes on nov 4th)

The winning deal has these key-points:
* 38% pay-rise over 4-yrs
* $12‚000 one-time bonus
* Up-to 6% yearly performance money with 4% locked-in
* Better 401(k) deal: full match for first 8% plus extra 4%
* Promise to make next plane in Seattle-area

The seven-week work-stop came after workers didnt like the companys earlier tries. Their oct offer had just 35% more pay and $7000 bonus‚ while sept deal was even lower with 25% raise and just $3000 extra - both got big no-votes from union members

Its important to note that Boeing made big changes in retirement stuff: the first deal had only 75% match for worker savings but now its full matching. The company also fixed the performance-bonus system which workers really wanted back

The new agreement runs till late-28 and includes a smart move by Boeing - promising to keep next jet production local (if they start the program during contract time)
