Top climate officials gather in Azerbaijan to discuss new world-wide finance plans and weather crisis solutions. Recent disasters push developing nations to demand more financial support from rich countries

The UN climate meeting COP29 started on nov-11 in Baku bringing together world-wide officials to talk about money and trade deals (after many weather problems hit poor countries last year)

Climate change is already here; people are suffering in the shadows dying in the dark and they need more than compassion

Mukhtar Babayev‚ COP29 President stated

The high-level meeting focuses on making a new world-wide money system: poor countries cant pay for green tech and weather protection so everyone will have problems. Simon Stiell the UN climate-change boss said its not about giving money away - its about helping all countries including rich ones

Let positivity prevail and let it power the process; let actions speak louder than words

Sultan Al Jaber outgoing COP28 President advised

The main tasks for this meeting include:

  • Making new rules for climate money
  • Fixing world-wide money systems
  • Helping poor countries get more cash
  • Making supply chains stronger

The Paris deal from about 9 years ago needs real action now - thats what Babayev pointed out. He said its time to show if countries really want to work together. Stiell added that if two-thirds of countries cant cut bad air quick enough everyone will have big trouble; no country can hide from these problems
