Rights organization pushes for global force to shield Sudanʼs population from military violence. Recent reports show increased attacks on civilians in regions near the capital

A major human-rights body made urgent requests for global intervention in Sudan where brutal military actions continue to affect local communities. The appeal comes as Rapid Support Forces (RSF) reportedly harmed many non-combatants near the nations capital

In an area close to Khartoum‚ the RSF group carried out wide-spread attacks: dozens lost their lives and many women suffered sexual abuse. The paramilitary unit – known for its harsh methods – keeps taking over new territories while leaving behind a trail of violence

Since mid-2023 Sudanʼs internal fight has torn the country apart. The conflict between regular army units and the RSF para-military group shows no signs of stopping (with both sides trying to gain more control). The RSF forces got blamed for doing bad things in many places they now rule: causing deaths injuries and making people leave their homes

  • Multiple cases of civilian deaths recorded
  • Wide-spread sexual violence against local population
  • Forced displacement of communities
  • Taking control of residential areas

The rights group points out that without quick global action more peaceful people will get hurt in this east-african nation where military groups keep fighting for power
