Irans top figure Ayatollah Ali Khamenei recently spoke about the death of Yahya Sinwar‚ a key Hamas leader stating that the group and its allies will keep going despite this loss. Khamenei said‚ “His loss is undoubtedly painful for the Axis of Resistance but this front did not cease advancing with the martyrdom of prominent figures“ He also added‚ “Hamas is alive and will remain alive“
Sinwar‚ who planned the attack on Israel about a year ago that started the war in Gaza was killed a few days back in a fight with Israeli forces. This happened after they had been looking for him for a long time. His death was made public the next day
He was a shining face of resistance and struggle
Khamenei praised Sinwar‚ saying he stood strong against the “oppressive and aggressive enemy“ He also talked about the attack from last year calling it an “irreparable blow“ that will be remembered in the regions history
The “Axis of Resistance“ which Iran has helped build over the years includes:
- Hamas
- Lebanese Hezbollah group
- Houthi movement in Yemen
- Various Shiite groups in Iraq and Syria
These groups say theyre fighting against Israel and U.S. influence in the Middle East
Khamenei ended by saying‚ “As always we will remain by the side of the sincere fighters and combatants‚ by Gods grace and help“ This shows Iran plans to keep supporting these groups
