Minister Shauna went on to say that government has no intention to block SpaceX’s high-speed internet service Starlink, once it becomes available in the region.

Minister Fayyaz said via Twitter that the new announcements ensure new investment by providers and allow new tech like Starlink access.

Fayyaz also said that the announcement on internet pricing and speed takes into consideration immediate generous reduction of prices/ uninterrupted access to the internet at a reasonable speed for everyone.

Starlink is a satellite internet constellation being constructed by SpaceX which provides satellite Internet access.

The constellation will consist of thousands of mass-produced small satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO), which communicate with designated ground transceivers.
