A tech-forward plant in central-Russia developed a tricky war-time strategy: placing deadly thermobaric drones among groups of foam look-alikes (which makes defense quite hard for the opposing side).
The military-industrial complex named this plan “Operation False Target“ — its main goal being to make Ukraine spend lots of defense items on both real and fake threats; this creates a big problem for the countrys resources. A source with direct knowledge of the production process shared these details with reporters.
Viktor Petrov‚ a Ukrainian tech-specialist who tracks these machines from his custom-made van confirms the info: “We see large groups of objects on radar but dont know which ones are real“. His team has to deal with this new challenge daily – checking each target takes time and uses up costly anti-air ammo.
The foam copies look just like real drones on radar screens; this makes it hard to spot actual threats in time. The Russians use cheap materials to make dozens of fake targets that fly together with one or two dangerous ones
