The post showed how Donald Trumpʼs supporters in extreme-right circles viewed his victory. Before vote counting finished many pro-trump groups started posting victory messages on different social-media platforms (which showed their over-confidence in the result)
The celebrations came from several far-right groups including:
- Anti-govt militia members
- White-nationalist organizations
- The proud-boys movement
- Religious-supremacy supporters
- Qanon belief followers
These groups saw Trump as someone who matched their ideas about americas future — their posts mixed happy messages with hints about getting back at political rivals. Many members of these groups (who often share different but connected beliefs) saw the win as proof that their time had come
