MANZINI – Spirit of Praise founder Bishop Benjamin Dube says we need to pray for each other and spread the love shown to us by God.
The legendary musician shared these words in an interview with this publication after his performance at the recent MTN iPraise Festival, which was held at Mavuso Exhibition and Trade Centre on Saturday. Dube is a South African Gospel recording artist, who rose to fame in the early 1980s. Over the years, he has released several albums that have reached gold and platinum status in the South African music rankings. The Gospel legend is also the lead pastor of the High Praise Centre in Voslorus, east of Johannesburg.

Spirit of Praise is an award-winning Gospel music group that consists of talented Gospel artists and singers. The group was formed to gather, enlighten, encourage and inspire the Christian community towards a greater relationship and bonding with the Lord. On Saturday, there were nine backup singers from Spirit of Praise. When probed on how he has been able to maintain the family, he shared that God had been their pillar of strength at all times. “All of us are saved; we are children of God, and we abide by the principles of the word. When the word of God says we have to love one another and be united, we have to uphold one another and support one another. That is what we believe in, and that’s why you see us on stage together.
"We further go on and pray for each other; while one is singing, we intercede for one another, and we support those who are leading. As children of God, we need to do that; it’s not an issue of competing, but of complementing one another. We believe in being there for one another every time,” Dube said. He added that they were on a quest to continue spreading love as per the will of God. “Praying for each other does not only help us to be united; it further inspires the love within us to grow. We are not only a group that sings; we are a family, and families support, uphold and pray for each other at all times. God blessed us with undying support for each other, and ours is to continue spreading love as per our creator,” Dube added.
Ready to build in Eswatini
MANZINI - Bishop Benjamin Dube was once promised land by His Majesty King Mswati III.
When probed on when he might be ready to have a home in Eswatini, he cited that he was yet to come back and have a talk with the King. “I was actually talking about it today when I got here (Saturday’. I have to talk to the King and inform him that I am ready. I don’t want to sleep in hotels when I am in Eswatini, I want to sleep at my own home that I will build in this country. I hope I will have many rooms and get to hire some of the ladies to look out for my home,” Dube said.
