A 26-year-old man has been charged after a rampage through Bentley on Thursday afternoon.
Police say the man entered a store on Albany Highway and threatened staff with a firearm before leaving and heading for a nearby petrol station.
There, it’s alleged he threatened a customer and demanded keys to their vehicle – but was unsuccessful.
“The man continued to walk to a liquor outlet where he selected items and attempted to leave without paying,” a WA Police spokesman said.
“When challenged by store security the man produced the firearm before leaving the store.”
Police were called to the scene and arrested the man, of no fixed address, shortly after.
He has been charged with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, assault with intent to prevent the arrest of a person, and being armed in a way that may cause fear.
The man is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Friday.
