I will never hesitate to face Presidential Election : Minister Sajith Premadasa

Colombo (News 1st): Deputy Leader of the United National Party Minister Sajith Premadasa spent the day in Kurunegala where he declared open three model villages. Speaking at an event he noted that he will not fear the Presidential Election for any given reason. He added that the Presidential Election is a process, where the people are asked who is the most suitable person to take over the future of the country.

Minister Premadasa said if they attempt to suppress the mandate of the people by devious means, it is an undemocratic act. He went onto note that he is prepared to go to the people and face this situation. He added that if the people say, go ahead and work for the future, he would accept the challenge without any fear, however, at the same time, if the people say he is not suitable and they reject him, he noted that he is ready to step aside.

He reminded that people that his late father sacrificed his life for this country and the United National Party and the United National Front, therefore, he noted that the United National Party and the United National Front should not assume Sajith Premadasa is just Premadasa’s son. Minister Premadasa said he is about to face a serious challenge with the entire country watching. He added that they have rendered services to the public which have touched their hearts.

“Sajith Premadasa will never hesitate to face Presidential Election. We do not need to be tutored about the views and opinions of the people in villages. At this decisive moment, give an opportunity for a new and fresh journey. You have tested all the other teams. You must now brace yourselves for a lively journey ahead.” – Minister Sajith Premadasa

The 279th, 280th and 281st Model Villages constructed in Naramala, Kotavehera, and Mahamithawa were declared open by Minister Sajith Premadasa today. The villages named Nawan Gama, Methsiri Gama and Kavmini Gama were constructed at a cost of Rs. 84.3 million.
