BTS member J-Hope finishes military duty, greeted by fans

J-Hope‚ a member of the popular K-pop group BTS finished his military service today. The 30-year-old singer was seen at a military base in Wonju‚ Gangwon province wearing a uniform and black beret. He was greeted by his bandmate Jin and a crowd of more than 100 enthusiastic fans and reporters

J-Hope expressed his thoughts on the experience saying‚ “Thanks to the fans I was able to finish it (the service) safely‚ with health“. He also shared his appreciation for the soldiers dedication: “What Ive felt for the past a year-and-a-half is that a lot of soldiers are working hard dedicating themselves‚ and doing so much to protect the country“. The singer asked the public to show interest and love for those serving in the military

J-Hope is the second BTS member to complete the mandatory national service‚ following Jin who finished his duty about four months ago. The remaining four members of the seven-member group began their service roughly 10 months ago; with the band expected to reunite in about a year

The completion of J-Hopeʼs service had a positive impact on HYBE‚ the label that manages BTS. The companys shares rose 4.7% in early trading‚ while the wider market remained flat
