Central France hit by floods: Travel chaos as rain pounds region

Todays date (10/17/24) central France got hammered by heavy rain‚ causing floods that messed up travel plans big time. The water was so bad‚ it covered roads and train tracks making it super-hard for people to get around

The countrys main train company SNCF had to stop all the trains going between Lyon and Saint-Étienne (two big cities in the area). They said the tracks were too flooded to use safely. Folks who needed to travel had to wait it out because trains werent gonna start again until tomorrow morning

Its not just trains that got hit: the main road connecting Lyon and Saint-Étienne was underwater too so they had to close it down. A bunch of smaller roads in the area were also shut. The people in charge told everyone to stay away from flooded places
