France open to Ukraine NATO invite, warns on North Korea-Russia ties
France shows support for Ukraines NATO bid while discussions continue with allies. Paris also cautions against potential North Korean involvement in Ukraine conflict‚ seeing it as a sign of Russias difficulties
Frances foreign minister Jean-Noel Barrot has stated that Paris is ready to consider an immediate invitation for Ukraine to join NATO‚ however discussions with allies are still ongoing. During a press conference with Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha Barrot mentioned‚ “Regarding the invitation for Ukraine to join NATO we are open to it and its a discussion that we are having with our partners“
Barrot also touched upon the topic of North Koreas potential involvement in the Ukraine conflict. He warned that if reports of North Korea sending troops to support Russia were confirmed it would be seen as a major escalation. This development according to the French minister could indicate that Moscow is facing difficulties in the war — a sign of Russias possible struggle to maintain its position in the conflict
