JD Vance claims Trump didn't lose 2020 election, shifts focus to censorship

Republican vice-presidential nominee JD Vance has finally addressed the 2020 election results claiming Donald Trump didnt lose. This statement came after weeks of avoiding the question from reporters and his opponent.

Speaking in Williamsport‚ Pa. Vance said “Did Donald Trump lose the election? Not by the words that I would use.“ He pointed out “serious problems in 2020“ referring to supposed censorship by tech companies. Vance emphasized his focus on social media censorship‚ mentioning a Twitter decision that briefly blocked users from sharing a Hunter Biden laptop story.

Previously Vance had avoided answering this question:

  • During the vice-presidential debate with Tim Walz
  • In a New York Times interview (asked five times)
  • Multiple times on the campaign trail

The Harris campaign was quick to respond. Their spokesman Matt Corridoni stated “There we have it — JD Vance finally admitted he denies the 2020 election results.“ He added that Governor Walz had predicted this on the debate stage weeks ago‚ suggesting Trump chose Vance for this reason.

Its worth noting that Trumpʼs reelection loss has been upheld through numerous lawsuits and investigations. Trump faces indictments in Georgia and at the federal level over his efforts to overturn his defeat which led to the Jan. 6‚ 2021 Capitol attack.

When asked about Trumps recent claim regarding “the enemy from within“ Vance referred to the racial justice protests of 2020. He mentioned “various far-left activists who are talking about civil unrest in this country if Donald Trump were to be elected president again.“

Meanwhile Harris warned during her stop in Washington Crossing‚ Pa. that Trump “is increasingly unstable and unhinged‚ and he is seeking unchecked power“
