Liam Payne's dad in Argentina to bring son's body home

Geoff Payne landed in Buenos Aires on 10/18/24 to handle the sad task of bringing his sons remains back to England. The former One Direction star Liam Payne died two days earlier after falling from a hotel balcony in the citys Palermo area.

Dressed in a blue suit Geoff was seen leaving a downtown hotel with British consular staff. He went to the prosecutors office to sort out the repatriation process and reportedly visited the morgue. This is the first time any of Liams family has been seen in public since his sudden passing.

The family shared a statement saying‚ “Liam will forever live in our hearts and well remember him for his kind funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time“

Liam often spoke warmly about his parents in interviews. His auto-mechanic dad and nurse mom appeared briefly in the 2013 One Direction documentary. Liams mom Karen said in the film:

When I see him on stage I absolutely burst with pride‚ but we do miss him so much

The details of Liams final hours are still unclear. Prosecutors say he may have taken too many drugs and alcohol. His hotel room was found in disarray with what looked like narcotics alcohol and broken items scattered around.

Its not yet known if Liam jumped or fell accidentally from the third floor. The autopsy showed he died from multiple injuries caused by the fall. Toxicology results are still pending. Investigators found no signs that anyone else was involved in his death
