IUIC, which believes that Black Americans are descendants of biblical Jews, was conducting a march in Springfield when the footage was captured.

This misinformation comes in the wake of heightened tensions following the presidential debate on September 10, 2024, where baseless claims about Haitian migrants were amplified. The miscaptioned video began circulating on social media platforms, including Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), with captions falsely stating, "There's a Haitian militia forming right now in Springfield, Ohio. This is a real threat to the American people."

A spokesperson for IUIC Columbus has categorically denied these claims, stating, "This is Israel United in Christ marching NOT Haitian militia group. Definitely a FAKE STATEMENT/FAKE NEWS." The organization also shared photos of their visit to Springfield on their Facebook page on September 24, 2024, further confirming their presence in the area.
