Russia gives back hundreds of fallen Ukrainian soldiers

Russia has given back the bodies of 501 Ukrainian soldiers‚ (the biggest number since the war started) Ukrainian officials said. Most of these soldiers died fighting in the Donetsk region especially around Avdiivka which Russian forces took over earlier this year

The bodies will be checked by experts and then given to families for burial. The war has likely killed many thousands on both sides but there arent exact numbers

Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared parts of his so-called victory plan this week. It aims to make Russia stop the war through talks. A key part is getting invited to join NATO which Ukraineʼs Western friends havent wanted to do until the war ends

Joe Biden met some European leaders in Berlin today and said Ukraineʼs allies must keep helping Kyiv. Zelenskyy says Russia is getting help from China Iran and North Korea

South Koreaʼs spy agency said North Korea sent troops to help Russia fight Ukraine. Kyrylo Budanov who leads Ukraineʼs Military Intelligence‚ was quoted saying 11000 North Korean troops are training in Russia to join the fight. He told a defense website that 2600 North Korean soldiers are getting ready to join Russian forces in Kursk‚ where Ukraine has held some land since 08/2024

The fighting keeps going while world leaders talk about what to do next. Russia sent 135 Shahed drones and other drones at Ukraine yesterday night‚ (one of the biggest drone attacks of the war). Ukraineʼs air force said they stopped most of them but didnt say if there was any damage or people hurt
