Ukraine Repels Massive Drone Attack, Zelenskyy to Present Victory Plan

In a recent development in the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War, which began in 2014 with Russia's annexation of Crimea, Ukrainian forces successfully countered a significant aerial assault. The attack, occurring overnight on October 5-6, 2024, involved 87 Iranian-made Shahed drones and various missile types launched by Russian forces.

Key among these are Ukraine's aspiration for NATO membership and the acquisition of long-range missiles capable of striking targets within Russian territory. These objectives reflect Ukraine's determination to bolster its defensive capabilities and strategic position.

Zelenskyy stated, "Our troops demonstrate what Ukrainians are capable of when they have enough weapons and sufficient range. We will keep convincing our partners that our drones alone are not enough. More decisive steps are needed — and the end of this war will be closer."
