Customs officer arrested and charged with theft

The Major Crimes Division of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force arrested and charged Gibron Bailey, a 39-year-old Customs Officer with theft on October 20th, 2023 following an investigation.

Bailey is accused of stealing sixty-eight thousand, one hundred and ten dollars and eighty-seven cents ($68,110.87ECC) in cash and cheques to the value of seventy-five thousand, one hundred and eighty-two dollars and eight cents ($75,182.08ECC) between 30th August 2023 and 21st September, 2023, the property of the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Bailey appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on Monday, October 23, 2023, where he pleaded not guilty.

He was granted bail in the sum of seventy thousand dollars with one surety.

He was ordered to surrender all travel documents and report to the Stubbs Police Station every Monday. The matter was adjourned to the 25th October, 2023.
