Biden sees chance for peace after Hamas leader's death

US President reacts to Israeli operation killing Hamas leader Sinwar‚ comparing it to bin Ladens death. He views this as an opportunity for hostage release Gazaʼs future without Hamas and a potential political settlement

On Air Force One Joe Biden shared his thoughts about the Israeli troops killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. He said its a good day for Israel US and the world (comparing it to how Americans felt after Osama bin Ladens death)

Biden sees this as a chance to free hostages and stop the war thats been going on for about a year. He plans to talk with Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders to say well done and chat about getting the hostages back home and ending the fight once and for all

The President thinks that with Sinwar gone theres now a shot at a Gaza without Hamas in charge and maybe even a political deal that could make life better for both Israelis and Palestinians. He gave a pat on the back to US special ops and intel folks who helped Israel track down Sinwar and other Hamas big-shots over the past year – but made it clear that Israel did the actual operation

Jake Sullivan the national security adviser called Sinwar a huge roadblock to peace. He added that with him out of the picture it might be easier to find a way to get the hostages back

Its worth noting that the Hamas attack on Israel happened roughly a year ago while the al-Qaida attacks on the US were about 23 years back. The US has been helping Israel track Hamas leaders for about a year now

This proves once again that no terrorists anywhere in the world can escape justice‚ no matter how long it takes

Biden stated

Biden believes this could lead to a day after in Gaza without Hamas running things and maybe even a political fix that could make things better for both sides. But for now‚ the focus seems to be on getting those hostages home safe and sound
