A security issue at Gatwick Airport caused major problems at its south terminal on nov/22 making thousands of travelers wait outside in cold weather
The airports second-biggest UK terminal stopped working after security team found strange item in someones luggage (located about 30 miles from central London); bomb disposal experts came to check it. During this time workers gave out emergency foil blankets to people who were standing outside
The disruption affected more than 600 flights today which means:

- Both arriving and departing planes
- Multiple airline schedules
Airport Management fixed everything after a few hours saying: “south terminal is now safe and working again; staff can come back and passengers will follow soon“
In another event police dealt with fake dangerous package near US embassy in south london - they did controlled explosion but later said its just hoax
The terminal shutdown made lots of people wait near airport building and parking lots - many social-media users shared pics of crowds standing around with their bags waiting for news about whats happening
