Election offices in two states get disrupted by mysterious threats

Several election offices got bomb-threats which forced workers to stop ballot-counting in Maryland and California. Law enforcement found no real danger and counting will continue after short pause

Election workers had to leave their posts when bomb-threats hit multiple vote-counting places in Maryland and California yesterday (which caused a quick stop to ballot processing)

Marylandʼs elections chief Jared DeMarinis spoke about the situation: some buildings got cleared-out but everyone stayed safe. The Baltimore County police checked things out real quick; they got an email with the threat but found nothing bad.

Safety is a top concern - but we WILL resume canvassing tomorrow. Cowardly threats whether from abroad or not shall not deter us

Over in California two places got hit: Orange Countyʼs Santa Ana office and Riverside Countys central counting spot had to stop work. K-9 units searched both places (they found zero explosives) and workers will get back to counting today

Both Gavin Newsom and Wes Moore - the states governors - said theyre watching things close and helping local teams. This comes just days after the presidential race where Donald Trump won against Kamala Harris; FBI says similar threats hit five other states on election day from what looked like Russian emails

  • Georgia
  • Michigan
  • Arizona
  • Wisconsin
  • Pennsylvania

The feds are looking into these new threats while local teams keep working to finish up counting votes from local state and national races
