Back in early 1920s Italy faced big problems: money wasnt worth much and nobody could lead properly. This empty space got filled by Benito Mussolini who started with good-looking ideas about womens rights
During the first world-war Italian women kept everything running while men fought; however things changed fast. Mussoliniʼs party switched from supporting equal rights to pushing women back home – they made up some weird math about low birth-rates being a huge problem (and gave money to big families)
The fascists made rules against birth-control and said its womens job to have lots of kids; they didnt get to vote until after world-war-two. Fast forward to today and similar stuff is happening across the ocean
We must go to war against the anti-child ideology
Donald Trump and his friend J.D. Vance are pushing ideas that look very familiar:
- Saying women without kids shouldnt make big decisions
- Calling working women sad and lonely
- Making fun of women leaders who dont have children
In Russia Vladimir Putin is doing the same thing – he wants Russian women to have 7-8 kids just like their great-grandmas did. His government gives prizes to super-moms (those with 10+ children) but at the same time they made some kinds of family-violence less punishable
Over in Hungary Viktor Orban talks about protecting traditional families; he changed their laws to say marriage can only be between man and woman. Meanwhile all these countries have a real problem: not enough young people are being born but instead of fixing real issues like money problems they just blame women
