In a surprising turn of events‚ Anna Barbara Hantz Marconi a New Hampshire Supreme Court Justice‚ has been charged with trying to mess with a criminal investigation into her husband. The states Attorney General John Formella announced the charges yesterday which include two felonies and five misdemeanors
Hantz Marconi who was put on the bench by Republican Governor Christopher Sununu about 7 years ago‚ has been on paid leave since July. Her husband‚ Geno Marconi has also been on leave from his job as director of the New Hampshire Division of Ports and Harbors since April
The indictments claim that Hantz Marconi tried to sway the investigation by telling Governor Sununu that it was based on “personal petty and/or political biases“ and had no merit. She also supposedly told him that the investigation needed to end quickly because she couldnt work on important cases due to being recused
No person is above the law‚ and the evidence in this case required investigation and presentation to the grand jury
The charges against Hantz Marconi include:
- Attempting to commit improper influence
- Criminal solicitation of improper influence
- Five other misdemeanors
