19-year-old in critical condition after Outaouais car crash

Speed and alcohol might have been factors in the incident.

A two-car crash Thursday evening in the town of La Pêche in the Outaouais region has left a 19-year-old driver in critical condition and facing the possibility of criminal charges.

Collines-de-l’Outaouais regional police said the incident occurred at 7:20 p.m. on Riverside Rd. The impact of the crash was such that the 19-year-old driver was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to hospital in critical condition. The driver of the second vehicle, a 62-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.

Witnesses claimed speed and alcohol played a role in the incident and police took a blood sample from the 19-year-old as part of their investigation, which was continuing on Friday.
