Kabul — Twenty-one people were killed in an explosion that hit a Kabul mosque during Wednesday night prayer services, Kabul police said Thursday.
Police spokesperson Khalid Zadran said another 33 people were injured in the blast.
Witnesses told Reuters that a powerful explosion was heard in a neighborhood north of Kabul, shattering windows of nearby buildings. (Reporting by Mohammad Yunus Yawar, Writing by Charlotte Greenfield, Editing by Muralikumar Anantharaman)
