Three motorcycle crashes reported in Elgin County over the weekend

OPP responded to three motorcycle collisions in Elgin County on Saturday.

At 11:21 am, a motorcycle and an SUV collided at the intersection of Highway 3 and Caroden Road in Bayham City.

Police said the 31-year-old motorcyclist was kicked out of the car and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both the SUV driver and passengers were treated for minor injuries.

Elsewhere, at 12:34 pm, a single-vehicle motorcycle collision was reported near the John Wiseline address in South Wald Township.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital for treatment of a serious injury.

Then, at 3:50 pm, a motorcycle and a car collided at the intersection of the Talbot Line and Springfield Road.

Police said a 51-year-old motorcycle driver was slightly injured.

Police say all three crashes are under investigation.

"Safe and defensive driving is paramount to reducing the number of motorcycle fatalities and serious injuries on roads and highways," says Insp. Mark Lucas, OPP Separation Commander, Elgin County. "It is the responsibility of all drivers to share the road safely. This cannot be exaggerated if motorcycles are involved."
