LAVAL — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a motorist in the Pont-Viau district in Laval on Saturday afternoon.
The 85-year-old woman was crossing the street at the intersection de la Concorde Est and de la Normandie when the collision occurred around 4:55 p.m.

According to a spokesperson for the Service de police de Laval (SPL), the driver, an 80-year-old woman, went to make a turn and did not see the pedestrian.
Patrick Boucher of the SPL confirms no criminal charges are forthcoming.
