Aaron Judge, Josh Donaldson power Yanks to beat Mariners

Aaron Judge hit a major-league-leading 44 home runs, Josh Donaldson went 4-5 with a double, a homer and three RBIs, and the New York Yankees had a season-worst five-game losing streak. He scored in a 9-4 victory over the hosts Seattle Mariners on Monday night.

Judges hit his 425-foot shot straight into center field to lead off Ryan Bolucchi's ninth inning.

Mitch Haniger and Cal Lowry are home to Seattle and took two of his three games from the Yankees last week in the Bronx.

Yankees right-hander Jameson Tyrone (11-2) won in his seventh inning. In his three hits he allowed three runs, three walks, and six strikeouts.

Donaldson helped the Yankees to an early lead. DJ LeMahieu lined up a single to center field to take the lead first, while Judge lined a ground rules double to right. Donaldson then grounded a two-run single to left.

The Mariners scored his back a run in the bottom of the inning on Haniger's solo his shot to left. This is his 100th home run of his Seattle career and the 15th player in franchise history.

Donaldson hit a solo home run with two outs at his third base, and in left field he fell short of the second deck. He lined up a single to right after Gleyber Torres, doubled by Andrew Benitendi into the right field corner and scored as Torres relayed a throwing error to J.P. Crawford's plate short hop catcher Lowry.

Donaldson, Torres and Benintendi lead on his fifth consecutive doubles, extending New York's advantage to his 6-2, Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert. (10-5) closed out the night. Benintendi scored with Isaiah his Kyner Falefa sacrifice fly off his relief his pen his Murphy.

Gilbert said he had just over four innings and he had 10 hits and he gave up 7 runs, 6 of which were slugging. He walked one and hit two.

Lowry hit his shot solo into right center field with two outs in the seventh inning.

Donaldson hit his double in the ninth inning, and Jose scored on his two-out single on Trevino.

After Eugenio Suárez was hit by a pitch and Crawford singled, Sam Haggerty got a hit in the bottom of the inning.

Haniger had his three of his six hits for Seattle.
