About 32,000 clients of Hydro-Québec were without power Wednesday night as high winds swept across the province, down from almost 50,000 earlier in the evening.

said on its website. The electricity producer reported 196 outages across Quebec, down from 203 just after 7 p.m.

The Montérégie and Laurentides regions were the hardest hit by the storm, with two thirds of those without power being in those regions.
