Air Canada said Wednesday it will operate flights at 79% of its pre-pandemic capacity this summer amid a labor shortage and strong demand for air travel.
Canada's largest airline also said it would recall employees laid off during the pandemic and hire additional workers.
Although the company has struggled with complaints about long lines and lost packages at some hubs, management noted that package handling has improved amid rising demand for international travel.
The carrier has approximately 34,000 employees, compared to 34,700 before the pandemic began.
