Airdrie Community Health CenterUrgent Care Center (UCC) will reopen 24/7 on Friday.
Four new doctors have been hired and will work at UCC in the coming weeks,Alberta Health Services said in a release Thursday morning, along with the announcement. Efforts are also underway to recruit new doctors to support emergency medical services in Airdrie.

Since July 21st, UCC has been forced to reduce night shift hours on weekend nights. AHS said temporary measures were taken as a "last resort" to support patient and staff safety.
"The hiring of these new doctors will provide continued support and enable him to return to his 24/7 emergency medical services in Airdrie," said Calgary. said Dr. Charles Wong, the zone's medical director of emergency care.

AHS will also invest more than $1 million in new funding to improve staff and emergency medical services in the city. We mentioned that there will be three new Care Spaces added. More staffing will also be added to improve triage and patient flow during flow times.
State health officials have also rolled out a new model of care for patients with less serious health problems called Fast Track. The service will operate eight hours a day and is expected to handle up to 30% of her UCC visits each day, according to AHS.

AHS is recruiting registered nurses and nurse practitioners to support this initiative.
"This will allow other medical staff to focus on patients with more serious problems," said Amanda Gosselin, Director of Rural Health for the Calgary Region.
