The 6-foot-2, 212-pounder played in all 18 regular-season games last year, catching 36 passes for 517 yards while scoring three touchdowns.
The Alouettes on Monday announced the re-signing of Canadian receiver Kaion Julien-Grant to a two-year contract.
Julien-Grant could have become a free agent on Feb. 14. According to a report, half of his salary in the second-year of the deal is guaranteed. The 26-year-old had a workout this winter with the Denver Broncos, but wasn’t offered a contract.

“This is great news,” Alouettes head coach Jason Maas said. “We are getting a talented receiver and we are enhancing our Canadian talent. Julien-Grant knows our team well and we look forward to seeing him on the field as a major part of our offence.”
The 6-foot-2, 212-pound Julien-Grant, a second-round draft choice in 2019, is entering his fourth season with Montreal. He played in all 18 regular-season games last year, catching 36 passes for 517 yards while scoring three touchdowns. In 40 career games, he has caught 45 passes for 658 yards.
The CFL is in the midst of a weeklong window during which teams can negotiate with all pending free agents. But with the Als’ ownership in a state of flux, general manager Danny Maciocia’s hands appear to be tied. According to a report on Monday, Saskatchewan already has made a contract offer to Trevor Harris, Montreal’s starting quarterback last season.
When free agency begins next Tuesday, there’s expected to be a steady exodus of free agents from the Als, unless the ownership issue is resolved.
Along with Harris, most of Montreal’s starting receivers from 2022 are expected to test free agency, led by Eugene Lewis, the East Division’s most outstanding player.
