The Los Angeles Angels placed right-hander Michael Lorenzen on the 60-day injured list on Saturday.
A 30-year-old right-handed player, on July 7 (dating back to July 4) he landed in his 15-day IL, straining his right shoulder .
Lorentzen appeared in his 13 games in his first season with the Angels where he went 6-6 with a 4.94 ERA. He spent his first seven seasons with the Cincinnati Reds.
After optioning right-hander Jansson Junk to Triple-A Salt Lake after Friday night's game, the Angels also opted for right-hander Mike his Mayers deal.
Meyers, 30, has made 15 relief appearances for the Angels this season and is 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA. The 26-year-old Junk is 1-1 in 3 games and has a 6.48 ERA (2 starts). The
team also named right-hander Oliver Ortega as his 27th player for Saturday's doubleheader in Seattle. The 25-year-old is 1-3 with a 3.82 ERA in his 26 games in the Los Angeles bullpen this season.
