Man dies after hitting tree on golf course

A 73-year-old Castlegar man died Sunday after suddenly falling into a 100-foot tree on a golf course in Rossland, B.C., according to the RCMP.

"The man tried to avoid the falling tree, but was unsuccessful. The man likely suffered immediate life-threatening injuries from the collision," RCMP said in a press release.

He sprang into action and attempted to resuscitate the man using CPR and electronic medical equipment.
