VANCOUVER — RiverForecast Center published Wednesday The Upper Fraser River has returned to the High Stream Flow Advisory.

This includes areas from Prince George and its upstream tributaries to the Robson Valley and the McGregor River, and from Prince George to Kessner to the Fraser River.

We are also ending the West Road River's high stream flow advisory, which includes tributary rivers and streams around Nazuko.

The Center issued its first statement earlier this week after rainfall increased the flow upstream of the Fraser River.

The Fraser River near Hansard and Sherry is said to still be at its peak, but is expected to recede throughout the weekend due to the expected dryness of the area.

However, the center states that the river is still relatively high at this time of the year and will remain vulnerable to heavy rains in the coming weeks.

This report by Canadian Press was first published on July 1, 2022.
