Elijah Hicks scored a touchdown on a muff punt as the Chicago Bears defeated the hosts Seattle Seahawks, 27-11, in Thursday's preseason action.
Late in the second quarter, Seattle's Cade Johnson called for a fair catch at his 10-yard line, but the ball went through his hands. The ball was then hit by several players before Hicks finally fell on it in the end zone. The extra point after that gave Chicago (2-0) a 17-0 lead.
Bears quarterback Justin Fields completed 5 of 7 passes for 39 yards. Darrington Evans had eight carries for 39 yards and a touchdown.
Geno Smith threw for his 112 yards on 10 of his 18 passes for the Seahawks (0-2). Darwin Thompson gained his 34 yards and scored a touchdown on six carries.
