A mother who lost a child in 2021 says her trauma was exacerbated by: Possible breach of baby files by Ottawa police detectives.

"Without this kind of circus, it's hard enough to lose a child," said the mother. This mother fears that raising her voice will endanger her family's safety, so she has agreed that the newspaper will not name her.

Last week, the newspaper reported on her dishonorable conduct charges against Det. Ottawa Police Detective Helen Grus has been charged with improperly accessing child death files and contacting at least one family member of her while looking for links to vaccines.

The mother was notified in March that files containing details about the baby's death had been accessed by a detective, not an investigator. A few days later, she read about the internal Ottawa police investigation into her Grus, first reported by her CBC.

Grus has not yet filed her petition. Her attempts to contact her were unsuccessful.

Her mother said the only information she knew about the incident was the news she got from her media. In her interview last week, she explained that her disciplinary proceedings had made her angry and shut out, and made her even more furious at the social media support surrounding Grus.

The words were used by her mother. infuriated the "I find it really hard to avoid comments. The most hurtful comment I see is that only this person (Grus) and her supporters care about my child," she said. "How painful it is to read over and over again how she's a hero and how lucky she is to have us stand up for you, words."

Ironically, the same people defending liberty and denouncing vaccine mandates are the same people who defend Gruss' claims.

"Consent is not part of freedom," she said. "My family did not consent to this person intervening in our lives in this way."

In March, Ottawa police called the mother to ask her to file a baby file. The call exacerbated her ongoing grieving process when she notified her that she had been improperly accessed.

"After your child dies, especially under these circumstances, it's easy to get depressed when you get a call from the police, the coroner, someone, the paramedics," she said.

"I'm still dealing with the trauma of finding my (baby) and performing CPR. I'm going to leave my (their) little lifeless body forever." My trauma around the death of my baby is so intimate and any kind of mention of her situation is just very re-traumatizing. The number of bucks is increasing … It is very difficult to deal with.”

Women are full of anxiety right now. It's unclear how widespread the break-in into her child's files was, but she wants more details from Ottawa police.

"We still don't know how many times and under what circumstances she accessed our children's files," she said. “I believe there are pictures and personal information of my child.

"There was no assessment of how this affected victims and those affected." And how can this disciplinary proceeding be done?" she asked. "It seems we are only a nuisance to them. From my observations, if they had their way, everything would have gone on without our knowledge."[65]

In response to a question asking whether the affected person would like to receive detailed information on file about the nature of the alleged violation and whether he or she would be further involved in the disciplinary process. , the Ottawa Police Department

"cannot provide information regarding ongoing Police Service Act matters. These hearings are open to the public, so interested parties may attend." If an individual needs assistance, please contact the Victim Support Unit.”

June 2020 to January 2022 In the interim, Ottawa Police Professional Standards Investigators alleged that Grus had access to nine child or infant death cases in which he did not play a role in the investigation and contacted the father of the deceased on January 30, 2022. I'm here. She should contact the baby directly to inquire of her mother about her COVID-19 vaccination status.

Grus is a detective in the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Division who also investigates sudden or unexpected deaths of young children. Such investigations are rarely prosecuted. Grus has been suspended since her February 4, 2022.
