The Blue Jays and Bo Bichette are on the same page — and not a moment too soon.
The Jays avoided arbitration with their star shortstop on Tuesday by agreeing to terms on a multi-year deal, according to a Sportsnet report.

Details were scarce but it’s believed to be a three-year term, buying out all three of Bichette’s arbitration years.

The infielder’s free agency timeline is not affected. He’s slated to hit the open market three seasons from now along with star teammate Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
While Bichette’s payday is unclear, it should be a handsome one. It has been suggested $33.5 million would be a fair number for the next three seasons.

Bichette filed at $7.5 million last month while the Jays countered at $5 million, making for a substantial gap. In fact, it tied the Astros’ Kyle Tucker for largest discrepancy between a team and player in the majors.
Bichette, who turns 25 next month, hit .290 with 24 home runs, 93 RBIs and 13 steals last season. He has led the American League in hits the past two seasons.
