A five-story apartment building on Broadway in Winnipeg was evacuated Friday night after a fire spiraled out of control.

Most of the residents evacuated to safety, while those who remained were rescued by firefighters.
Most of the building's residents were able to return to their suites after the fire was extinguished, but two suites suffered significant fire and water damage.
