Calgary drivers frustrated by fuel price flip-flops at local gas stations

Residents of the North Calgary community are increasingly frustrated with what they call higher than average prices at local gas stations.

"I don't know if price gouging is a term," he Rick Gibos cheekily told Global News. "But let's call it price gouging." Nathan Mizera, who heads

"They went crazy," he said of the charges charged at the Bowness Road petrol station.

Mizera added that prices not only change almost every day, but can also change several times a day.

He said fuel complaints were real.

"(People) were furious. I heard it on social media. People are very upset about it."

Global News also received several emails saying that at Bowness station Pictures from residents gushing about ever-changing fuel prices.

When staff working at the station were asked if they could explain the discrepancies in gasoline prices, Global News was told they were not authorized to comment.

Gasoline prices

Analysts add that gas price volatility is nothing new and can vary by city, state and country.

Currently Alberta has the cheapest fuel with an average of 152.9 liters. Quebec highest with her 187.4.

Paul Pasco of Kalibrate says many gas stations now restock supplies, which determines the bill.

"It depends on where it's delivered, the refinery and when you buy it." However, Pasco said it is now starting to stabilize as oil prices have fallen.

"That supply his chain needs to be leveled."

Stations "gouging" drivers, as some have claimed. Regarding , Pasco said it would not be.
