Logan Stancoven added a goal and an assist to help Canada improve to 6-0. Conor Bedard, Mason McTavish and Joshua Roy also scored.
Stan Coven has teamed with Garland for three seasons in his Western hockey league with Kamloops and his Blazers.
"He's been consistent and solid throughout," Stancoven said.
"He is very focused and ready for every game."

Jan Mysak and David Jiricek score for the Czech Republic. Thomas Štăek had 22 saves in the first two periods and Pavel Cajun stopped eight shots in the third.
"They were a good team and never walked away from the game," Stancoven said.
In Wednesday night's quarterfinals, the Czech Republic beat the United States 4-2 to him.
