Card St. Louis purchased a contract between veteran catcher Austin Lomin and optional catcher Ivan Elera to Triple A Memphis on Monday.
Lomin, 33, played part of 11 major league seasons and spent three games against the Los Angeles Angels earlier this season. He hit .291 with eight RBIs in 16 games with a home run in Memphis.
Romine was released by Angels on May 31st and signed a minor league deal with Cardinals last month.
