At its current location in East London, it has served more than 228,000 people for almost two and a half years, according to a media release from the London Health Science Center (LHSC).

"The Carling Heights Center has helped us manage the high volume of testing throughout the pandemic," said Kim Prankes, director of the COVID-19 Assessment Center. "Occupying this space wasn't easy, but it played a very important role in keeping this community safe.

"We are extremely grateful for the support we have received from our community partners and residents of Carling Heights," she continued. "We really appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to meet London's medical needs." It accommodates about 60 patients per day, but in the first wave of the pandemic, 600 people were seen each day.

The LHSC said it would move the evaluation center to a smaller location to "accommodate both staff and patient testing" due to fewer patients.

As of August 22nd, the COVID-19 Assessment Center will move from the Carling Heights Community Center to her new location, Victoria Hospital, in Wing 24.

All services provided remain intact.
