The five-foot-eight, 177-pound Worthy had 47 punt returns for 547 yards (11.6-yard average) in 15 regular-season games last season. He also had 51 kickoff returns — taking two back for touchdowns — for 1,220 yards (23.9-yard average).

Worthy joined the Alouettes after spending time with the Toronto Argonauts (2017-2021).

“I know Chandler well having played him a few times and I can confirm that we have an electrifying player on our hands,” Alouettes head coach Jason Maas in a statement. “With one play, he can change the outcome of a game.

“Opposing teams have to be ready when he is on the field.”

Montreal also signed American receiver Keshunn Abram.
