Attempted child abduction under investigation in Abbotsford

Police were called to a possible child abduction shortly before 9pm.

The Abbotsford Police major crime unit is continuing to investigate a report of a possible child abduction attempt that occurred on August 15, 2022. A description has been provided by the child, which was used to create this composite drawing.

Abbotsford police warn residents to lock doors and windows after man attempts to kidnap child looking out their bedroom window.

The child said the stranger reached through an open window in her first-floor bedroom, dragged her out of the room, and down the side of the house to the road. .

The child is free and the man has fled.

Police have not released the age or gender of the uninjured child.

Released a composite drawing of the suspect based on the description provided by the child.

He is described as dark-skinned, about 40 years old, 5 feet 10 inches, medium build, short brown hair, full beard, silver nose piercing, and "flower". A tattoo on his left arm that stretches from his biceps to his forearm. The Tman was wearing a ripped blue short-sleeved T-his shirt, ripped blue his jeans, and blue and white slip-ons.

Abbotsford Police are asking any witnesses or anyone with surveillance camera or drive recorder footage to contact police at 604-859-5225.
