Child dies after reversing car in Lanaudière

Repiffany, Que. — An infant was killed after being beaten by a driver (34) who was returning to a driveway on private land. The tragic accident occurred on Saturday at Belam Road in Lepiphanie, Lanaudière.

Around 11:00 am, paramedics went to Repiffany for an accident involving a child of unknown age.

"According to initial information, the 34-year-old driver turned around to leave the premises of his private residence. During this operation, a toddler was caught while trying to retrieve an object on the ground. "It was," said Nicolas Scholtus, a spokesman for Sûreté du Québec.

After the on-site resuscitation was performed, the child was transferred to Pierre Lugardour Hospital, where he was declared dead.
