China reported 868 new coronavirus cases on August 6, of which 390 had symptoms and 478 were asymptomatic, the National Health Commission said Sunday.
This is China's separate count of 361 symptomatic and 343 asymptomatic infections, compared with 704 new infections a day earlier.
There were no new deaths, bringing the country's death toll to her 5,226.
As of Saturday, mainland China had 230,886 confirmed cases.
The Chinese capital, Beijing, reported his one new symptomatic case on 6 August.
No new cases were reported in Shanghai and the southern tech hub Shenzhen.
A national holiday hotspot in Sanya, a city on the southern tip of Hainan Island, is grappling with an outbreak, with 615 symptomatic cases between August 1 and August 6. It said it had documented cases and 213 asymptomatic cases. The city imposed a lockdown on Saturday.
